Onpage SEO with 6 important things that bring efficiency

The importance of Onpage SEO, Over the past few years, Google has released a number of algorithmic updates including Panda, Penguin, Pigeon and Hummingbird being the biggest, followed by updates on structured data, and penalties for Spam link system. Google’s reason for updating or launching new algorithms is because Google wants users to be happy when they visit your site. And the only way Google knows this is by relying on user satisfaction when visiting your site, Google collects data to understand user behavior when interacting with your content. And to do this well, Webmasters need to implement Onpage SEO (a term that is so familiar to the people who do SEO worldwide).

In this article on Onpage SEO, I will list the things you need to pay attention to when optimizing the website so that it can improve the traffic to your website, increase your website ranking on Google and help the process of working with Offpage SEO easier.

Onpage SEO – Website speed

A recent study by akyra.com.au shows that 47% of your target audience wants your site to load in two seconds (see akyra’s research). Moreover, according to Radware’s research, more than half of online shoppers in the United States will not buy from a website if it loads slowly.

This means that not all of us hate waiting for slow loading pages, which makes us more impatient and can lead to dissatisfaction when visiting the site.

In 2011 on GoogleWebmasterCentral posted content about Google is very interested in page load rate (see here). And up to now, page load speed has become very important for any website.

Other Kissmetric studies have shown that a one-second delay in page load time can reduce conversion rates by 7%, which is a significant number. (you can see this research Kissmetrics’ study on loading time)

With the above information, it can be seen that the page load speed has become a very important criterion in evaluating the reputation of a website, and Google is definitely hard to ignore this criterion.

So how can you improve page load speed?

There are many tools to help you optimize page load speed like Google Pagespeed (https://goo.gl/ftOBTS). In addition, you can use Pingdom speed testing tool to check your current page load time (click here: https://tools.pingdom.com). In addition, if you want to compare the loading speed of competitors with your own website, you can use tools according to WhichLoadsFaster.info.

If you find that your website does not have the desired page loading speed, you should contact the programming experts to ask them for advice and optimize the page loading speed. Also, for those of you using WordPress source code, you may need to delete some unnecessary plugins to improve page load speed immediately. I will guide you on how to optimize page load speed in the following articles.

Optimize Meta tags

Since the webmaster guidelines sent to webmasters by Google from 2008 to the present, the criteria for Meta tags have not changed significantly, they are still familiar but not sure that you have noticed and optimized it in a serious way.

In the SEO training modules at VietMoz I often emphasize the importance of the following Meta tags:

Title card:

The title tag is the one that appears when you search for anything on Google. When you write the title, you need to include the keywords you want to do SEO. You should also try to write short, clear title tags and a general description of the content of the article. The ideal length of title tags is from 50 to 60 characters. If your title tag exceeds 60 characters, Google will only display … for extra characters.

You can find out more about title tags here: goo.gl/26K5PT

Meta description:

The description card contains 160 characters maximum, the content written in the description card will appear immediately below the title card. The content that will give readers more details about the content they will read when Clicking on your site.

You do not need to cram keywords in meta description like some experts or SEO consulting documents. Instead of doing so, you should use synonyms or keywords that are related to the main keyword that you are talking about.

For example, if your main keyword in the title is “How to increase traffic to your website,” you can use some of the keywords below to include a description tag.

  • Increasing the number of site visitors
  • Promote free traffic
  • How to attract site visitors
  • How to attract website visitors

You can often find other related keywords under your search results (below the TOP 10 search results on Google there are always keywords related to the query you are looking for. Those are also variations which you can use in your description tags.

Meta Property tags

Fully declaring Meta Property tags will make it easier for Google to understand your website structure, thereby increasing the trust of the website because declaring the information in the Meta Property tag will help Google know which your website type is. Moreover, these Meta Property tags makes it easy for social networks to display information fully when you share it on corresponding social networks (such as avatars, titles and contents in description card)

Optimize Heading tags

Heading tags are always one of the important criteria to help Google Bots understand the content of your website so that your site can rank better. You should never ever forget the important criteria of Heading tags such as: Each page should only have 1 H1 tag, H2 tags that support information for H1 tags, H3 tags that support information for H2 tags.

If you do not insert Heading tags in the article, Google can still collect and understand your content, but if you properly insert Heading tags, it will definitely help Google understand your content better and Index your data faster.

Onpage SEO – Create lots of useful content to increase website traffic

According to a HubSpot study from 2014, nearly three-quarters of consumers prefer to read company and business research instead of having annoying advertisements.

Content is always the backbone of a thriving business. You may have heard, “content is king.” But, to do good content in SEO you need more than that, you need to build an in-depth content editing plan and focus on long keywords are related to your main keywords.

Please note that when providing this content, you need to create content that brings interesting, valuable or useful help them solve a problem. Also, you should try to create emotions so readers can help you share this content as much as possible. Regarding technical issues writing standard SEO articles, you can refer to my Vlog here: goo.gl/zgVFEH

Always remember that content creates a channel of communication between you and your customers, if communicating effectively, it will increase your brand awareness and keep customers staying with you longer.

Optimizing Crawlability

As a person with more than 7 years of SEO research I can confirm that SEO is not complicated. In fact, to succeed in SEO, there are simply three important factors:

  • Crawlability
  • Content
  • Link

If you are not familiar with “crawlability,” a quick search in Google will help you better understand the term.

Basically, you only need to understand the Google crawling process simply after you publish the content Google Bots will somehow find your website and crawl it. If your site makes it easy for Google to crawl, Google will immediately compare the content collected from your site and compare it with other existing content. Google will then receive additional signals to rank your site.

Understand this principle, Webmasters can easily fool Google Bots to be able to improve their website by giving relevant information, the content has the Freshness element (freshness of content). By posting a lot of information according to Trends (topical factors) related to the keywords of the product or service you provide, Google will prioritize fresh content over outdated content.

And never forget that, in order for Google to crawl your site, you need to point the links correctly. Because if your links are inaccurate or give irrelevant information, Google will have difficulty understanding the structure and sitemap as well as the content you are trying to convey.

The topic of Google data collection is quite academic, let me list some terms below which are common errors for you to learn and fix if your website has these errors:

  1. Broken Link
  2. Poor Internal Link
  3. Complex URL
  4. Dynamic Page
  5. Code Bloat
  6. Error in Robots.txt
  7. Orphan Page
  8. Moving Your Site (301)
  9. No Sitemap
  10. Fancy Technology
  11. 404 Page
  12. Mobile friendly

At the moment, the percentage of people using mobile devices to access the internet has been increasing, even accounting for more than 70% of the traffic to the website compared to desktop computers. The fact that your website is not mobile friendly will significantly reduce the credibility and user experience. And do not forget that without the Mobile version, your website will be underestimated and downgraded by Google.

Building a Mobile interface is not difficult, there are many types of optimization, but in my opinion, you only need to pay attention to Reponsive technology (The interface is flexible according to the screen size). This is the technology that I think is the best in current time.
